Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

The short version

  • We use Google Analytics to count visits and see what people look at. It doesn't tell us who you are.
  • If you join the mailing list, we keep your email address to send you news. You can unsubscribe any time.
  • Buying merch happens on our Shopify store, under Shopify's own privacy policy.
  • We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
  • Questions or requests: tom@daybedrecords.com or jack@daybedrecords.com.

Who we are

Daybed Records is an independent record label in South Australia, run by Tom Redden and Jack Stokes ("we", "us"). This policy covers this website. Our artist link pages at links.daybedrecords.com have their own policy.

What we collect, and why

Visits. Google Analytics records the pages you view, roughly where you are (city or country), your type of device and browser, the site that sent you here, and a few actions such as adding something to the cart, starting checkout, joining the mailing list or tapping an email link. We use it to see what's working and to improve the site. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so it isn't used to show you ads.

The mailing list. If you sign up, your email address goes to Flodesk, the service we send our emails with. We use it only to email you news about releases, shows, merch and the label.

Your cart. What you add to the cart is saved in your own browser, so it's still there if you come back. It isn't sent to us until you press Checkout.

Buying something. Checkout, payment and delivery are handled by Shopify on our store. Shopify collects what it needs to process and send your order, under Shopify's Privacy Policy.

Emailing us. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can reply.

Cookies and similar tools

  • Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… (kept for up to two years) to tell one visit from the next. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
  • YouTube. Videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Only the preview picture loads with the page; the player and any YouTube cookies load only when you press play.
  • Your cart is kept in your browser's storage, not in a cookie.

Who we share it with

  • Google (Analytics, and YouTube if you play a video);
  • Shopify (our store and checkout);
  • Flodesk (our mailing list);
  • Netlify, who host this website;
  • anyone we're required to share it with by law.

Tickets are sold through Humanitix: buying one happens on their site, under their privacy policy. These services may store information outside Australia, including in the United States.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from our emails with the link at the bottom of any of them.
  • Ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing us. We'll reply within 30 days.
  • Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use a private window.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email us first and we'll sort it out. If we can't, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
